MUMBAI: Sky’s the limit for casting director and actor Parag Chadha!
Parag is still remembered for casting actors for popular shows namely Jamai Raja and Tamanna. Apart from being a casting director, Parag has equally enjoyed being in front of the camera.
TellyChakkar got in touch with him and asked what’s keeping him busy these days. He shared, ‘I have been busy casting for an upcoming web show Maharaja Chhatrasal, which is going to be India's biggest historic web series. The project will feature actors namely Jitin Gulati, Ashutosh Rana, and others, and I am proud that the entire setup is done by me. Also, I have been working closely for a few ZEE5 projects. I am also starting something exciting with Culture Machine.’
We asked him what are the differences between casting for a web-series and a TV show, and he replied, ‘In web series, there is a strong demand for ad and film faces. That is what I've been experiencing. The testing process and the shortlist process is entirely different; the sourcing also differs.’
How is his acting career going? He shared, ‘My acting career is on pause at the moment, as casting is keeping me occupied.’
Finally, talking about his plan of action for 2019, he said, ‘The plan for 2019 is just like any other year, to try and thrive in life, learn and grow, generate opportunities, and do justice to what I do.’
Parag has even been the winner of MTV Splitsvilla Season 3.
