MUMBAI: MTV Splitsvilla 12 is high on controversy, drama, tears, and, of course, romance.
The last episode showcased a major rift between Aahna Sharma and her once best friends Meisha Iyer, Bhavya Singh, and Sondarya Thakur, because Bhavya and Sondarya body shamed Aahna.
Later, Sunny Leone supported Aahna and stood up against body shaming. However, the controversy hasn’t died down yet. Post the episode, there was a huge uproar about what happened.
After the episode was telecast, Aahna’s mother took to social media to support her daughter and slam the three girls.
Miesha took to Instagram and posted a video of Aahna body shaming another contestant Arshiya Arshi. She opened up about the entire episode and said that she realized her mistake but that Aahna was also wrong.
She wrote, 'No interest in spreading hate but I've to speak up. I’ve left the show and everything it contained behind me but it lingers on through baseless allegations and false information being spread about me. Guys, any comment made to make fun of a person's body type is body shaming. I was called "FLAT" by Ahana while we were getting ready for for the introduction shoot and this was even before the show had begun! Mind you, we were really good friends then. This kinda stuck in my head for days to come and eventually out of anger I made a comment too! I said "With extra padding", which I meant as an external factor and was wrong to say and I apologize for it. The "aunty trend" was started by Aahna on the 2nd day itself as she believed that she was the youngest of all contestants. We all had to adapt the same it as it was already established on the show! I’m not saying we weren't wrong, we were abused, humiliated and body shamed too! But the difference being, we took it with a pinch of salt and didn't victimize ourselves! It was a game, we all made mistakes and we accepted mistakes made by others because we were splitsvilla fam! We lived together, ate together. The "3 girls", didn't go about saying shit about Ahana after the show In fact, before the show was to be aired, I told all my fan pages to not spread any hate. (screenshots available)
Little did we know, Ahana's mother decided to introduce herself on Instagram to protect Ahana from being bullied. Perfect until you start reading a little more. She spoke about the upbringing of the "3 girls" and how she has pity on us! That is what upset us the most. The victim involved her family, let alone disproportional hue and cry! Aahna knew that I lost my parents at a very young age and she still applauded when her mother spoke about my upbringing. Not insensitive?! Ahana's mother discarded the fact that her daughter abused Bhavya and spoke about her dad (who passed away). However, my mother brought me up she would never ask a girl my age to fuck off or never go on social media and call me prettier than someone else. Please don’t spread hate to the people mentioned above and sorry @arshiyaarshiofficial to include you.'
