MUMBAI: Pati Patni Aur Woh is one of the much-awaited films. It stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in lead roles. The film is all set to hit the screens on 6 December this year. In a recent interview, Ananya Panday opened up on how Pati Patni Aur Woh is different from 1978’s film.
For the uninitiated, the upcoming film is the remake of the 1978 classic film that starred Sanjeev Kumar, Ranjeeta Kaur and Vidya Sinha. A few days back, the posters of the film characters were revealed and each of the stars looked promising. However, many who have seen the original wondered how the remake different from it. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Ananya revealed the difference between the old Pati Patni Aur Woh and the new one. The young star, who will be seen in playing the hot secretary, mentioned that the characters in their film are far more detailed and women are shown as empowered. Ananya mentioned that the character arc for Bhumi and her has been developed with good dialogues and hence, it is different from the original. Ananya also mentioned that in the original one, females didn’t have such strong characters.
Ananya said, “In the past, women didn’t have such strong characters. In our film, Bhumi and I have prominent roles. Our characters are far more developed and you’ll see that through our dialogues as well. Showcasing empowered women is inspirational.” Ananya also mentioned that the current generation will also relate to their film. The film will feature Ananya as the hot secretary while Kartik will be seen as Chintu Tyagi. Bhumi will be seen playing his wife, Vedika. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh remake is being produced by Juno Chopra and Bhushan Kumar. It is slated to release on 6 December 2019.
