MUMBAI: The very talented and popular Hina Khan walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival last year. It was a big high for the actress. All her industry friends and well-wishers congratulated her. Now, her on-screen daughter Shivangi Joshi will follow in her footsteps and sashay on the red carpet as her debut film is in the running for Cannes, this year.
Shivangi, who is popular for her portrayal of Naira on the TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is pretty excited for her debut on the big screen; the film will be a love story titled Our Own Sky. Apart from Shivangi, South actress Asifa Haque and Aditya Khurana will play the leads. In fact, Aditya will be the first male to walk the carpet along with our Bollywood divas, said producer Mohammed Nagaman Lateef.
Talking to SpotboyE, the producer revealed the reason behind roping in Shivangi for the project, 'I roped in Shivangi Joshi for the film as besides her, I didn't find anyone who is capable enough to hold this role. I have already worked with many experienced actors so I wanted to go with someone new. Shivangi has not done much when it comes to music albums or commercials. So this film will give her the opportunity to come out of her daily soap space.'
