The Raikar Case review: A gripping story of a dysfunctional family

The series has a gripping storyline and is a roller-coaster ride filled with thrill. It is a must watch during the present lockdown.

MUMBAI: After Asur with Arshad Warsi and Marzi with Rajeev Khandelwal, Voot Originals is back with The Raikar Case, which is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Karmanya Ahuja and Bijesh Jairajan. The project is produced by Sukesh Motwani, Persis Siganporia, and Mautik Tolia.

The series features gems from the Bollywood industry such as Ashwini Bhave, Atul Kulkarni, Neil Bhoopalam, and Parul Gulati in the lead roles.

The story is based on a dysfunctional family. Each family member does not share a good relationship with the other and is trying to find a reason to love the other. The series starts with a suicide committed by a young son in the family. Later, we see that this is more than just a suicide. All the family members directly or indirectly are under scrutiny as the case moves ahead. In a way, each of them is related to the incident.

The story and the screenplay are the highlights of the 7-episode series. The storyline is gripping and the story and the narrative covers the perspective of all the family members effectively.

The series keeps you glued to your seat throughout. Each episode has a twist to make it even more interesting.

Even though the begins to slow down a little mid-way, it picks up the pace before you get bored.

The background music helps in crafting the suspense very well and is appropriate for the scenes. It invokes much curiosity in the audience.

Talking about the performances, all the actors have aced the characters of the Naik Raikar family extremely well. Parul Gulati takes the cake with her performance as Etsaha Raikar. Atul Kulkarni, whom we have seen in movies like KhaKhee and Rang De Basanti, plays Yashwant Naik Raikar to perfection.

Overall, this series is a must watch and is the perfect pick during the lockdown.

Is it a suicide or a murder? Or is the situation completely different? To know, watch The Raikar Case, which will stream from 9th April.

Team TellyChakkar gives The Raikar Case a 3.5.
