MUMBAI: Netflix India has revealed a new zombie web series via its Instagram handle. Titled Betaal, the show is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. This will mark the third officially announced collaboration between Red Chillies and Netflix after Emraan Hashmi’s Bard of Blood and upcoming Bobby Deol led film, Class of ’83.
This horror web series is a stand-off between present-day police and a battalion of dead British soldiers, led by fearsome officer Betaal.
The web series has been executive produced by Blumhouse Television and SK Global Entertainment.
The official logline for the show states, 'Hired to displace tribal villagers to make way for a new highway, officials unearth an old curse and an army of British soldier-zombies.'
Synopsis
Betaal stars Viineet Kumar, Aahana Kumra, and Suchitra Pillay, among others. It has been written and directed by Patrick Graham and co-directed by Nikhil Mahajan.
Red Chillies Entertainment revealed that Betaal will be releasing on May 24 via a tweet.
