MUMBAI: Days when children wore certain things, and mom wore certain things are long gone. Sync is in- yes, that's the trend many families are following wearing matching outfits wherever they go. In one of our Instagram searches we landed on Priyanaka Singha's handle, wife of VJ Ranvijay Singha. Apart from her adorable family pictures what caught our attention, was matching dress worn by her and her daughter Kainaat. Pretty as pink, both of them looked in the tiered dress.
Sync clothing aka matching clothing has been percolating for decades and has reached fever pitch since the past few years. Patterns and trends in matched clothing have changed over the years, and now the emphasis is more on prints like stars, hearts, pineapples and sloth. Aww! Isn't it?
Nothing is more adorable than mother-daughter outfits. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, melted her fans' hearts when she shared the pictures, on her Instagram handle, of her daughter wearing mini versions of her outfits on various occasions.
"Parents have been dressing their kids in matching clothes for decades. But it's only recently that the families have started wearing the same prints and silhouette, "says designer Manika Jain. "There are no longer hard-and-fast rules for what each generation can wear — today's adults wear rompers, while babies have their pick of leather jackets and cutoff shorts."
Instagram is fuelled with the families of celebrities wearing the same outfits on several occasions. "It's just not clothing, but a reason to celebrate life,' concludes Jain.
