Naagin 4: Was Nia Sharma fired because of her pay package? Details inside

Naagin 4 starring Nia Sharma and Vijayendra Kumeria is coming to an abrupt end.

MUMBAI: Naagin 4 starring Nia Sharma and Vijayendra Kumeria was one of the top shows on television. However, much to everyone’s dismay, Naagin 4 is coming to an abrupt end. After the exit of Rashami Desai who was the new entrant in the show, the makers have also informed the leads of the show Nia and Vijay about the end of the show. The makers claimed that the decision is not taken on the basis of the budgetary constraints completely, the fact that despite all the experimentations, the show couldn't meet the expectations which forced them to take this step. Amidst all the this, Nia Sharma talks about that money is not why she is out of the show.

Speaking to Times of India about her exit from the show and Naagin 4 has ended abruptly, the actress told that the show didn’t end abruptly. She told that the production house was professional and they informed her a few days back. She was quoted saying, “Honestly speaking, I can’t complain because the television industry is badly affected and we don’t know when the shoots will resume. When you restart shoots after two-three months, you would want to begin on a fresh note. In such a situation, I, too, would have taken a similar decision.”

“Just because I am the face of 'Naagin 4' and it is one of the top shows, there is hoopla around it,” she further added. Sharma also pointed out the fact that in the past such things have happened and in coming months as well, many shows will go off air, leaving actors unemployed. Understanding the current situation, Nia further quipped, “I was at the top of my game in 'Naagin 4' and shot for three-and-a-half months, and now I won't be part of it. I also understand that when the situation gets better, I will have to go out and look for work.”

Talking about pay-cuts, she said, “It’s true that my work comes at a certain price, but that’s not why I am out of the show. If that had been the case, they would not have cast me in the first place.” She also said that the exit has hurt her as it will cost her money but that’s not why she was out of the show.

To which she further added, “If I was expensive, they would not have casted me in the first place. Lockdown is the reason why this decision was taken. And, looking at the current scenario, I might have to compromise and accept pay cuts in the future.”
