MUMBAI : Shaleen Malhotra is all set to portray a fresh character in the popular show, Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, which resumed shoot recently. He will be seen essaying the role of Rishi Burman, who is said to be Anjali Tarari’s love interest.
Shaleen will bring about a lot of change in the premise of the story with his character Rishi Burman, who is an unconventional and fiercely independent guy. He will be seen inspiring Niya, and help her inculcate the never-give-up attitude.
His previous roles have been raw, brooding, and intense in nature which is completely different from the one he is essaying in the show. In Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, he plays a businessman who is a charmer and smooth talker by nature. He has not portrayed such a character before and therefore it is going to be a challenge to play Rishi on the small screen.

Expressing his excitement, Shaleen says, “Rishi’s character is very real and a go getter! Someone who is self made and ambitious, but also a romantic at the same time. The kind of influence he will have on Niya’s life will be something to watch out for. I’m very excited to work with Varun Sir and Shweta Ma’am. Varun Sir and Anjali’s bond is commendable and I feel part of the pack already!”
