MUMBAI: Madalsa Sharma, married to Mithun Chakraborty's son, Mimoh, is quite a popular name in regional cinema. And now, she is making her debut on television with Rajan Shahi's Anupamaa. She will be seen in the role of Kavya.
During an interview, a leading portal asked the actress how her husband and in-laws reacted to the decision of her making a debut on TV.
Replying to the question, Madalsa said, "Mimoh has always been supportive of me when it comes to work. Not just him, but my father and mother in law too. Since the day I got married, they have always left the decision on me if I want to work or not. They always said if you come across anything and if you feel you want to do it you please go ahead. Still when this offer came to me, I discussed with them and they were in complete support."
Madalsa reveals it was her father-in-law Mithun who recommended her TV. "In fact, dad (Mithun Chakraborty) suggested that I try TV as he has been doing Dance India Dance for such a long time. He told me that TV exposure is bigger than films these days. Also, TV stars have a longer impression than film audiences. These days many films are releasing and you don't know the fate of the film. On TV every day you are performing and you have scope to show your talent every single day till the show is on-air."
Talking about Anupamaa, the show which will air on Star Plus from July 13, is an official Hindi remake of the iconic Bengali show, Sreemoyee aired on Star Jalsha. The show revolves around a homemaker who dons multiple hats and leads a hectic life. Along with Madalsa, Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey and Anuu Kapoor will play pivotal roles.
