MUMBAI: Making a career choice can often be a tough decision for many, especially when it comes to the field of entertainment due to the uncertainty of making it big. Some actors also face resentment from their parents for taking up acting as a full-time career choice, however Aparna Dixit of Pyar Ki Luka Chuppi which airs on Dangal, has a different story to share.
Talking about how her mother was the one to drive her towards acting, Aparna said, “While I was studying at Delhi University, I always participated in extracurricular programs. Be it fashion shows or dance competitions. During the second year of college, I received an audition call from Mumbai, however, I thought it was a prank call. But to my surprise, it turned out to be a real audition. Though I had just auditioned without thinking much about it, I ended up being shortlisted and was called to Mumbai.”

She further adds, “Since I was still studying, I told them to talk to my mother as she would be the one to take the final decision. The team spoke to my mother and it was actually my mom who convinced me to go for it. I honestly did not have the courage to ask her for this. We decided we would consider this trip as a small vacation since I had never been to Mumbai before. I gave my final look test, however, that show never went on air. But, luckily for me, that trip to Mumbai made me realize that acting could be a career choice for me and the rest is history. Had it not been for my mom, I would have never made it to acting. My mother is my biggest strength and my cheerleader.”
Aparna Dixit currently plays the lead as Srishti in Pyar Ki Luka Chuppi which airs on Dangal daily at 7pm.
