MUMBAI: The glamour industry can be cruel at times. It can give one fame, money, and put you up on a pedestal, and the same industry can get you down too.
When late Sushant Singh Rajput began his Bollywood career with the movie Kai Po Che! the industry welcomed him and the actor did bag a few awards for the movie.
Then, he had to struggle a little, but soon, he bagged MS. Dhoni’s biopic and became an overnight star. The actor was seen in Bollywood parties, posing with A listers. He, as well as the audience, thought that he had been accepted in the industry.
But that wasn’t the reality. Post Dhoni, he wasn’t offered a lot of movies and struggled to get one. He was quietly side-lined by the industry.
In the last year, he wasn’t seen in any parties or award functions in spite of his movie Chhichhore being one of the biggest hits of 2019.
Now, as per media reports, after Chhichhore, which was a blockbuster hit, the actor was offered a lot of movies but either he was replaced or the movie got shelved.
One of his close friends has come on record and said that last year, he was offered the biopic of Narayan Murthy which was supposed to be directed by his Chhichhore director Nitesh Tiwari.
But then, suddenly, he was replaced by super megastar Akshay Kumar, and the reason was still unknown. He was also going to do a movie with Shekar Kapur and Sajid Nadiadwala, which were either shelved or the actor was replaced.
The friend demands that this angle be investigated and that one should know why these seven films of the actor didn’t work out.
In the past, Akshay Kumar wanted to be a part of Ms Dhoni as it was directed by Neeraj Pandey, but the director had politely said that he feels Sushant is best for the role.
Sushant was one of the most upcoming talented actors of the industry but his dreams were crushed.
Since his demise, his fans are fighting for justice and want the truth to come out.
Fans have asked the authorities to investigate fairly.
