Sudhir Mishra: 'Hostages 2' will be totally unexpected

MUMBAI: Nothing will be as it seems in the second season of the web series, Hostages, promises filmmaker Sudhir Mishra.

"The second season of ‘Hostages' looks exciting with many things happening. Suddenly things turn over and it's totally unexpected. You think it's all over and, boom, it begins again. Season 2 opens a lot, and the way the characters and screenplay unfold the plot, it is amazing," Mishra said.

A crime thriller at its core, the Hotstar Specials series revolves around the life of a renowned surgeon who is ordered to assassinate the chief minister, in exchange for the survival of her family. It stars Ronit Roy Bose and Tisca Chopra.

Talking about the franchise, the director said: "The great thing about ‘Hostages' is that nothing is as it seems. The way Ronit played (his character) in the beginning, he seemed a villain and then suddenly things unfold. Tisca's character was amazing in season one as she was seen as a mother and a doctor, and when the two characters come together it is an excellent screenplay."

The second season will launch on Disney+ Hotstar VIP on September 9.
