MUMBAI: The one thing which is extremely important when it comes to skin is that it should have the right amount of moisture and it should be hydrated enough.

If you don’t moisturise your skin, you are going to experience some severe dry patches and premature ageing. It is impossible to imagine a girl not using make-up atleast once a week and as we know, even though we use the best of cosmetic products, one needs to have a good skincare routine along with it.

Ideally, makeup primers are used to smoothen the skin and fill in pores for a flawless base but dry skin could definitely do with more benefits. Dry skin doesn’t usually have large visible pores but there is a need for a plumping effect as dry skin tends to look sallow and dull. Today, we bring to you a DIY primer recipe for all of us to have a healthy skin and flaunt our make-up too like our favourite television celebrities.

Mix ⅓ cup of aloe vera with a teaspoon of coconut oil, and a couple pinches of that mineral powder makeup that you’re just certain you have in some drawer somewhere. Once it’s thoroughly blended, you can apply it with fingers or a clean makeup brush.

Another way is to apply a moisturizer and then pour some of the calamine lotion into the cap or on a clean surface where you’ll be dipping your stippling brush. Use the brush to paint a thin layer over your entire face.

For the third technique, all you need is filtered water, and glycerine and a small spray bottle. If you just spray plain water on your face, it will eventually evaporate and actually leave your skin slightly drier. Adding glycerine keeps some of that essential moisture locked in. Use about 10 parts water to one part glycerine!

How likely are you to try these DIY recipes?
