MUMBAI: Jaya Bachchan gave a Zero Hour notice in the Rajya Sabha to raise the issue of an alleged ‘conspiracy to defame Bollywood’. She stated that the image of the entertainment industry is being tarnished because of a few people. Now, Hema Malini has also agreed with Jaya Bachchan's statement in the Parliament, and has squashed Kangana Ranaut’s claims of Bollywood drug mafia. While speaking with NDTV about the allegations of drug usage in Bollywood, Hema Malini asked why only one industry is being talked about. She said that there are so many industries out there and that it is happening worldwide everywhere. “Must have happened in our industry also, that doesn’t mean the entire industry is bad. The way in which people are targeting Bollywood is bad. It is not like that at all,” she said.

Jaya Bachchan criticized those vilifying Bollywood, and said in the parliament, “Just because of a few people, you cannot tarnish the whole industry... I was really embarrassed and ashamed that yesterday one our members in the Lok Sabha, who is from the industry, spoke against the film industry. Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chhed karte hain.”
