MUMBAI: Amid and post COVID-19 lockdown, many TV shows were wrapped up either unannounced or within a short span of time after the TV industry resumed shooting.
One of the popular shows that’s being currently aired on Star Plus named Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, has been making to the news for claiming to go off air, very soon. This piece of news has infuriated it’s fans over the makers. Viewers are expressing their anger over this development, to the extent of boycotting the channel instead.
#BoycottStarPlusIfNoYRHPK is seen trending on the micro-blogging site Twitter. The avid viewers of this show are urging the makers to extend the show for 2-3 months and check for the desired TRPs, followed by enabling the show’s longer run on the small-screen platforms, instead of ending it abruptly as planned.
The show commenced Star Plus since March 2019, starring Shaheer Sheikh (as Abeer) and Rhea Sharma (as Mishti). Out of love for the cute couple, their avid fans have coined the name ‘MishBir’ to address the duo by combining their on-screen names.

Considering the flooded response of fans towards the show’s latest development, these tweets might compel the makers into re-considering their decision.
Also, it has been noticed that these avid viewers are more agitated with the show being replaced by Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2, as per the recent GEC announcements.
