MUMBAI: Actor-producer Rohit Choudhary recently featured in the music video "Babbu Ka Rutba" by Pradeep Dhaka. The song is in Haryanvi and is all about how people start talking about the status of a man when he gains a particular reputation in society. He says the song is a reflection of his life.
"'Babbu ka rutba' is a very hatke song because it resonated well with my life. In a way it shows my journey from a farmer to where I am today in life," he said.
The song, which was shot in just six hours, has been crooned by Pradeep Dhaka. Sharing how he got the role, Rohit said, "Pradeep Dhaka wanted to make his name in the Haryanvi industry. We have met a couple of times and then in one meeting, he said that he wanted to do this type of Babbu song and wanted me to play that character of a dabbang Babbu. He said he wanted someone with royal looks, who can play this role with ease and insisted that I did it. He also wanted my help with the location and cars. My only motto was to help him. It has been shot in just six hours, and I think it came out quite well."
Talking about playing a dabbang Babbuin the video, he said, "My character might be looking like a don but it is just dabbang. Someone who has worked hard to become rich and how some people are jealous of him and they send goons to attack him. And then my son in the song brings him to me to take revenge. I have made a name for myself because of my hard work and someone is trying to destroy it, so how can I leave that person. That is what is shown in the song. I guess the looks changed because during the lockdown my beard and hair grew and salons were also closed, so maybe because of that I might be looking like a don."
Rohit also informed that he has some projects lined up and will reveal the details soon, however, he mentioned that he wants to play a very "dabbang" character on-screen.
"As an actor, I want to play a dabbang character, whether it is a policeman or anything else, but it should be fearless and a dabbang character. I am a natural actor. I don’t want to act, I just want to perform the real me on-screen," Rohit signed off.
