MUMBAI: One of the most popular quiz-based game shows, Kaun Banega Crorepati has a huge fan following. Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, season 12 of the show is currently on air. The episodes have kept the viewers hooked to the television screens.
Something interesting happened in the show and it left Amitabh Bachchan surprised.
Well, the episode started with roll-over contestant Jay Dhonde. Hailing from New Delhi, Jay works as a City Operations Head of a food delivery app. On the show, he shared that he wishes to open a small restaurant for his mother. Jay, who belongs to a Maharashtrain family, is expecting his first baby soon.
The contestant sat on the hot seat and Big B started the game with a Rs 1000 question. The first question was: “Which of these dishes is said to have ‘chaar yaar’?” The options were: A) Pulao B) Biryani C) Kebab D) Khichdi.
As Jay was not sure about the answer, he ended up using two life lines.
He first chose ‘Video Call a Friend’ lifeline and Big B called up his uncle. Even though he answered it correctly, the contestant wasn't confident about it.
As Jay was not sure, he ended up using another life line of 50-50. The right answer was: Khichdi.
In spite of being employed with a food delivery app, he used two lifelines to answer a food-related question. Owing to this, Amitabh Bachchan was surprised. He even showed disappointment towards Jay.
However, Jay soon picked up pace and was able to answer the rest of the questions accurately with the help of the remaining two life lines.
Finally, he managed to win prize money of Rs 3,20, 000.
