Additi Gupta, better known as Heer of Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil is looking for work after the premature ending of her Life OK show Zindagi Kahe - Smile Please.
“I am game for any kind of interesting daily soap. As let’s face it only this kind of stuff sells.”
She also has no problems wearing heavy sarees 24*7. “I am quite comfortable in the national garment.” Ask her about what went wrong with Zindagi Kahe and the hurt clearly shows, “I don’t want to say much except that it was unfair on part of the channel to heavily promote some shows while ignored others like ours.”

Additi does miss the success of Kis Desh Mein. “I did not know how powerful that Balaji telefilms love story was when it was on air. Later when I did Sanjog Se Bani Sangini (Zee TV) yet people would call me Heer and not by my new character’s name.”
Additi, who has also done dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha (Star Plus), now wishes to keep a distance from the non-fiction format. “I am not comfortable presenting myself to the audiences as I am. I prefer the veneer of a character. Plus I am also not at ease with all the bitching and other negative elements normally associated with reality shows.”
In a frank mood, Additi further reveals that “the current TV environment is not conducive for established actors to find work.
“Producers and channels prefer taking newcomers as they come at a cheaper price tag.” She also accepts that at time when there are so many actors, “being out of sight is indeed being out of mind.”
“You are not seen for six months and are completely forgotten. I don’t help my case either as I don’t believe in socializing or doing PR. If things don’t work may be I will quit and go back home to Bhopal,” ends Additi.
