MUMBAI: Instagram followers for TV actress Simran Khanna have decreased significantly, she is well-known for her show Udaariyaan. She reportedly lost almost 6 lakh social media followers after addressing the issue on her feed, according to a popular news portal story. The publication quoted her as saying, "This morning I woke up with almost 6 lakh people unfollowing me." Indeed, several celebrities have had their social media accounts hacked in the past.

Simran Khanna discovered on July 15, morning that she lost 6 lakh social media followers. She contacted her team to find out more about the circumstances after being taken aback to discover that it had happened overnight.
The actress also asked Instagram support help to aid her in the situation. "While there’s no response from them yet, my team told me that my account may have been hacked because there is no way that so many followers can drop overnight", she further said.
Simran continued that it has been a cause of concern for her and so she had posted about the same on her social media feed. As of now, there is no activity happening on her Instagram, and texts have not been sent to anyone.
She finds it strange and thinks that in this day and age, social media might be a source of income. The times have changed, and social media sites are now a great way to find work.
Content has been shot and brand deals have been made. Stars have made money from it as well, and social media accounts share information to view the following count. "So this does matter to actors a lot", Simran feels.
The actress is currently a part of the Udaariyaan cast and was last seen in the show Ajooni. The plot has undergone changes that have led to the inclusion of additional characters. Regarding her part, she told the same outlet that she was happy with the way her character was developing and that she had received an extensive brief.
