Rahul Saxena out of IPL Rockstar

Rahul Saxena, the shy and soft spoken singer from Indian Idol’s first season, enjoyed his second stint in Marathi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa recently. He was the only male contestant who made it to the top three, but unfortunately could not win it. He then immediately signed IPL Rockstar on Colors only to get the boot this week. “Rahul has got a very soothing voice. All his performances were appreciated. This week, he performed on Ek haseena thi (from the old Karz), it was an overall nice act, however, Kailash Kher felt that Rahul was sad throughout the song. When Rahul reminded him, that in the actual song too Rishi Kapoor sang in a sad mood, Kailash accepted it. In the end, Yashika and Rahul were in bottom two according to the judges’ scores and Rahul was evicted. It was a big shock for Rahul as there were some other contestants who gave weak performances but they got good marks from the judges,” our source says. There are seven contestants remaining in the show and this week there was no celebrity guest. Shilpa Shetty, Daler Mehndi and Falguni Pathak were few guests and performers who have previously appeared on the show. Saxena’s elimination is expected to air on Sunday.
