COLORS

MUMBAI: 2024 has been a year of bold moves and unforgettable moments at COLORS, where women didn’t just play roles—they owned them. What truly stood out this year was the trailblazing female characters who broke barriers, shattered stereotypes, and embodied unapologetic resilience. From Mangal’s unwavering determination to protect her sister Lakshmi to Durga’s refusal to be bound by societal expectations, COLORS brought us a wave of women who redefined what it means to be strong. Durga’s declaration, “I have the right,” echsoed loudly as she ensured her voice was heard. Whether it was Bulbul’s fierce fight for love or Suman’s boldness in the face of power plays, these women weren’t just characters—they were icons. While the strength of characters like Megha, Parineet, and Krishna spoke volumes about the depth and diversity of female power in today’s stories, COLORS’ narratives also gave us the kind-hearted Mishri, the beacon of courage Megha, and the carrier of her father’s dream Apollena—proving that endurance comes in many forms.

But that’s not all—COLORS didn’t just stop at delivering hard-hitting drama; it also served up the most innovative content in television with a homegrown celebrity-based dinnertainment show—Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment. From mind-blowing reality shows like Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi, to the debut of an out-of-this-world space drama, Apollena, the channel pushed boundaries in every way. If 2024 was the year of redefining entertainment, COLORS did it with style, substance, and, of course, an abundance of heart. Together, these sisters carve out a path toward a life of dignity, standing strong against the cycle of submission.

When society tried to chain a dreamer’s spirit, Durga roared, “Mujhe haq hai!” — a battle cry that shattered the iron bars of tradition. In ‘Durga - Atoot Prem Kahani’, COLORS weaved an epic love story of defiance and destiny, where a tribal girl dared to don the healer’s white coat and cure a fractured society. Starring Pranali Rathod as the audacious Durga, Aashay Mishra as her noble ally Anurag, and Indira Krishnan as the formidable Paani Bai, this story unfolds in the regal city of Jodhpur. Her NRI groom Manoj, a wolf in groom’s attire, vanishes after draining her family’s hopes and wealth. But Megha isn't a flame that flickers out in the wind and decides to heal from her trauma and restore her family's reputation. With IAS Officer Arjun's help, she heads to Georgia to demand answers from her runaway husband. Sparks fly as Suman, no pawn in the game of power, stands her ground. There’s no way to guess, who will emerge victorious in this battle of spicy schemes and comebacks.

Krishna Mohini – Raksha aur Suraksha ka pyaara bandhan

Navigating the stormy waters of life can feel overwhelming, but in such times, having a "jeevan saaRthi" – like a lighthouse guiding ships through perilous seas – makes all the difference. 'Krishna Mohini', a heartwarming tale on COLORS, beautifully portrayed this bond between siblings. The story follows Krishna, an optimistic and devoted sister who becomes her younger brother’s guiding light, ready to face any storm for him. Set in the sacred city of Dwarka, the sibling drama unveiled the extraordinary journey of Krishna (played by Debattama Saha), who fiercely protects her brother Mohan (Ketaki Kulkarni) while providing for her family, not knowing that chancing upon Aryaman (Fahmaan Khan) will challenge everything she stands for.
