My best holiday ever

A page from the personal diary of Anisha Kapur If you are planning to go on a vacation and want to enjoy every bit of it then Bangkok it is. I have a great affinity to the place as my mother is from Thailand and I have a house in Bangkok. Going to Bangkok is like killing two birds with one stone as I not only get to meet my family but I also get to enjoy a great holiday. This time when I reached Bangkok on June 1 it was pretty hot there but I had decided that I would enjoy my vacations without letting the heat get to me. After relaxing for a day I went out with my cousins to roam the streets. I love shopping so my first target was to hit the mall. I would like to share an incident which still gives me goose bumps. I was bargaining with a shopkeeper in Thai language and there was an Indian family standing next to me. Suddenly I heard them talking about me. They were saying that I was an actress and they wanted to meet me. But I guess they were feeling awkward and didn’t approach me. Though it was strange but at least I felt proud that people know me abroad also. Another thing I love about the country is the food. Thai food gives me one more reason to keep going there. My cousins and I used to go out almost everyday and we covered almost every good restaurant that served good Thai food. Towards the end of my holidays I wanted to something crazy and extraordinary. I was aware of a Thai temple where monks keep tigers as their pets but I didn’t get a chance to ever go there so this time I thought of going there. I can’t tell you that how thrilling that experience was. I was trembling when I tried to touch the tigers because the temple authorities are not responsible if anything goes wrong. But finally I touched a tiger and it was unimaginable, I also put his head on my lap and ended up kissing its nose. It was so cute. After spending 12 wonderful days I left the place with tears in my eyes. This was one of my best vacations ever.
