Vivian Dsena and Vahbbiz Dorabjee
Click on the pic to view slideshow I had called actor Vahbbiz Dorabjee for the umpteenth time for the dinner appointment with her and her fiancé Vivian Dsena. No, Vahbbiz did not have any problem but Vivian was busy shooting everyday for his serial Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors channel. Later one evening, I received a call from Vahbbiz saying Vivian had an early pack-up and we could meet. I went on speed mode and when I mentioned the name of the restaurant I had zeroed in on as At Fat Cat, Vahbbiz let out a gasp, “That’s exactly where I wanted to go two days back. I love that place.” The lovely couple arrived on time – Vivian in faded jeans and a blue T shirt and Vahbbiz in a trendy short dress topped with a black shrug. Manager Moloy presented us the menu and even without seeing it, Vahbbiz placed the order for Chicken Satay. It is Navratri, so Vivian went veg. A Catholic observing Navratri, I wondered aloud only to learn that his mother is a Hindu Brahmin. So it was Jalapeno Cheese Poppers and Chilli Cheese Toast for us. Vivian is an actor with a whimsical buzz about him… . hailing from Ujjain, the former model has made a name for himself in the female dominated television industry rather early in his acting career. “I never aimed to be an actor,” declared Vivian, adding further, “I used to do modeling assignments and my friend coaxed me into giving an audition for Balaji Telefilms’s Kasamh Se. I did it for a lark and bagged the role of Ronit Roy’s son.” The dimpled actor has been lucky to get a plum role where his character (RK) has more dialogues than the girl playing the title role of Madhubala (Drashti Dhami). But I guess the cut-to-cut shooting schedules are showing on him… as I could see him suppressing a yawn in between our conversations. Vahbbiz is a Pune girl… now settled in Mumbai and a TV actor too, not too keen on taking up roles that demand a hectic lifestyle. They would like to do a Nach Baliye but not Bigg Boss. By then the eats were served and the cute Vahbiz went for it with a fork in the process making the satay jump out of the plate. Vivian calmly picked it up and put it aside, revealing, “This is a regular feature. When I come home, I know what she has eaten as there will be chocolate chips on her chin, farsan trapped in her locks. I like her clumsiness!” and Vahbbiz admitted to her Parsi eccentricities with good humour. While the lady talked nineteen to the dozen, our hero was relatively quiet but both were honest and lovable. I told them to try out the amazing thin-crust pizzas, creamy risotto and delicious pasta at At Fat Cat but they managed to consume only this much. We gossiped (without any malice, of course) a little and it was time to take leave of this vivacious pair. They are a very-much-in-love couple awaiting an early 2013 wedding. Wishing Victory to both the Vs, I bid them adieu.
