1. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

This was one of the most popular Indian soap opera that aired from 3 July 2000 to 6 November 2008 on Star Plus. The show was co-produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms.

The show revolved around protagonist 'Tulsi', an ideal daughter-in-law (played by Smriti Irani), who hailed as the daughter of a pandit and married 'Mihir Virani' (played by Amar Upadhyay, who was replaced by Ronit Roy), the grandson of rich business tycoon Govardhan Virani.

2. Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii

This one is another Hindi-language Indian television soap which aired on Star Plus from 16 October 2000 to 9 October 2008. The soap opera was created by Ekta Kapoor under her production banner of Balaji Telefilms, starring Sakshi Tanwar and Kiran Karmarkar.

The show explored the worlds of protagonists 'Parvati' (played by Sakshi) and 'Om Agarwal' (played by Kiran Karmarkar), who belonged to a Marwari joint family, wherein Parvati played the ideal daughter-in-law of the Agarwal family, while Om played the ideal son. The show is the story of the sons of Vishwanath Agarwal and their children thereof. 

Ali Asgar played the prime role of 'Kamal Agarwal', Anup Soni who played the role of 'Suyash Mehra' and Shweta Kawatra/ Achint Kaur who played the role of 'Pallavi Agarwal'.

3. Kumkum Bhagya

Another popular Indian drama television of Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms premiered first on April 15, 2014 on Zee TV and is streaming till date. The series initially starred Sriti Jha, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Shikha Singh, Mugdha Chaphekar, Naina Singh and Krishna Kaul. In 2020, Reyhna Malhotra replaced Shikha Singh as 'Alia' and Pooja Banerjee replaced Naina Singh as 'Rhea'. 

The series started as the story of 'Pragya' (female protagonist), 'Bulbul' and their mother 'Sarla Arora', who hopes to witness her daughters' marriage. Later, the show now revolves around 'Abhi' (male protagonist) and Pragya. Post Abhi-Pragya's separation, the show underwent a twenty-year leap in 2019, post which, Mugdha Chaphekar and Naina Singh (later replaced by Pooja Banerjee) were introduced as Abhi and Pragya's separated twin daughters - 'Prachi Mehra' and 'Rhea Mehra'.

Kumkum Bhagya is loosely based on Jane Austen's 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility.

4. Hum Paanch

This is Balaji Telefilms' epic Indian sitcom that first aired from 1995 to 1999. The series returned for it's second season from 2005-2006 and is regarded as one of the 'all-time favourite comedies' along with Dekh Bhai Dekh. 

The lead actors of the show - Ashok Saraf, Vidya Balan, Rakhee Tandon, Bhairavi Raichura and Vandana Pathak gained overnight stardom to become iconic TV actors.

Hum Paanch is the story of a middle-class white-collar worker - 'Anand Mathur', who always finds himself in trouble because of his five daughters - 'Meenakshi', 'Radhika', 'Sweety', 'Kajal' and 'Chhoti'. The three elder daughters are Anand and his first wife's children. The last two are Anand and Bina's daughters.

5. Kasautii Zindagi Kay (1 and 2)

This Balaji Telefilms creation on Star Plus starred Shweta Tiwari, Cezzane Khan (who later got replaced by Hiten Tejwani), Ronit Roy and Urvashi Dholakia in the pivotal roles of the protagonist, antagonist and other supporting roles. The series premiered on 29th October 2001- 28th February 2008. Shweta portrayed 'Prerna Sharma', Cezanne played Anurag Basu, Ronit Roy played the role of 'Rishabh Bajaj' and Urvashi Dholakia portrayed the iconic Hindi TV vamp 'Komolika Majumdar'. The show explored the story of the star crossed lovers - Anurag and Prerna. The various stages of their love and life as well as the lives of their children, grandchildren and at the end, great-grandchildren.

After almost a decade of it's completion, Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 came up as the OG series' second venture and was produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms. It aired from 25 September 2018 to 3 October 2020 on Star Plus, starring Parth Samthaan (as 'Anurag Basu'), Erica Fernandes (as 'Prerna Sharma'), Hina Khan (as 'Komolika Chaubey', who was later replaced by Aamna Sharif) and Karan Singh Grover (who portrayed the character of 'Mr. Bajaj' and was later replaced from this role by Karan Patel). This series' ending and storyline was way different from the first show as Prerna and Anurag could finally unite back in the end.

6. Pavitra Rishta

This was another 2009 Indian soap opera which was produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, that aired on Zee TV from 1 June 2009 to 25 October 2014.

The show revolves around a love story of 'Archana' (played by Ankita Lokhande), an untutored girl and 'Manav' (played by Sushant Singh Rajput), a car mechanic. Other actors like Savita Prabhune (Archana's mother), Anurag Sharma (Archana's initial fiance), Manjusha Karanjkar, Ajit Lokhande amongst others.

This show's plot is adapted from the South Indian (Tamil) serial Thirumathi Selvam of Sun TV.

7. Yeh Hai Mohabbatein

This show was Ekta Kapoor's recent massive hit show for it's off-beat content and stellar performance by the leads. It aired from 3rd December 2013 to 18th December 2019 on Star Plus. It starred Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel as 'Ishita Iyer' (female lead) and Raman Bhalla (male lead).

In December 2019, it's spin-off show titled Yeh Hai Chahatein was launched replacing the OG series, starring Sargun Kaur Luthra as 'Dr. Preesha' and Abrar Qazi as 'Rudraksh'. 

YHM's plot was initially based on Manju Kapur's 2011 novel Custody.

8. Jodha Akbar

Ekta Kapoor's famous romantic period drama so far premiered on 18 June 2013 to 7 August 2015 on Zee TV. It starred Rajat Tokas as 'Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar' and Paridhi Sharma as 'Jodhabai/ Mariam-uz-Zamani'.

This epic drama focused on how the nature of Hindu-Muslim matrimonial alliances under Mughal emperor Akbar's reign and how his marriage with the Rajput warrior princess Jodha Bai spared love and respect amid them in a measure which has changed the destiny of India. This period drama also highlighted on the wars of this time and the relationships amid the Mughals and Rajputs.

9. Kahiin Toh Hoga

This Balaji Telefilms soap opera aired on Star Plus between September 2003 and February 2007. The show was created by Ekta Kapoor, starring Aamna Shariff as the female lead 'Kashish Sinha', who lived with her 4 sisters and father in Shimla, Rajeev Khandelwal as the male lead 'Sujal Garewal' and Gurpreet Singh as 'Piyush Raheja'.

The show is based on Jane Austen's 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice.

10. Naagin

Naagin is Balaji Telefilm's most successful and highest grossing Indian supernatural fantasy thriller television series. The series traces the lives of shape-shifting serpents .

The first season aired from 1 November 2015 to 5 June 2016 and starred Mouni Roy, Arjun Bijlani and Adaa Khan as 'Shivanya', 'Ritik' and 'Shesha'. It became one of the highest-rated shows on Indian television.

The second season aired from 8 October 2016 to 25 June 2017, starring Mouni Roy, Karanvir Bohra and Adaa Khan as 'Shivangi', 'Rocky' and 'Shesha'.

The third season aired from 2 June 2018 to 26 May 2019. starring Surbhi Jyoti, Pearl V Puri and Anita Hassanandani as 'Bela', 'Mahir' and 'Vish' respectively.

The fourth season was introduced with a new title Naagin: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel. It aired from 14 December 2019 to 8 August 2020, starring Nia Sharma, Vijayendra Kumeria, Jasmin Bhasin and Rashami Desai as 'Brinda', 'Dev', 'Nayantara' and 'Shalakha'.

The fifth season aired from 9 August 2020 to 6 February 2021, starring Surbhi Chandna, Sharad Malhotra and Mohit Sehgal as 'Bani', 'Veer' and 'Jay'. 

Currently, a spin-off of fifth season titled Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein was launched on 7 February 2021, replacing the OG series.
