MUMBAI: Telly actress Sanaya Irani is a prominent Indian television, movie and web series actress who has left behind quite a long and prominent trail of hers in the showbiz industry.
Irani hails from a Mumbai-based Parsi household and had harnessed seven years of her former education from an Ooty-based boarding school. Following this, she graduated from the Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai and was further pursuing an MBA degree before entering into the glamour world for modelling.
Sanaya's first modelling portfolio was done by the renowned Bollywood photographer-turned actor - Boman Irani.
Irani made her acting debut in Bollywood with her 'accidental' cameo role in the famous Yash Raj Film's movie Fanaa (2006), that starred Aamir Khan and Kajol as the lead actors, while she played the supporting role of Mehbooba.
The actress also spent her initial years of showbiz life by doing TV commercials with Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and other Bollywood stars before entering television.
For the unversed, she made her MV debut with Jagjit Singh's classic - 'Tumko Dekha'.
Sanaya debuted on the small-screen with the SAB TV drama series - Left Right Left in 2007. After this, there was no stopping Sanaya from claiming immense fame and leaving a prominent mark as a telly actress in the industry by bagging important roles for magnus TV shows, one after the other.
She has also participated in many reality shows like Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan, Meethi Choori No.1, Welcome - Baazi Mehmaan-Nawaazi Ki, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi, Box Cricket League 2, Nach Baliye 8 (contested with husband Mohit Sehgal), Kitchen Champion 5 and Khatra Khatra Khatra and has claimed prominent positions in most of them.

1. Sameera Shroff in Left Right Left

In 2007, Sanaya made her television debut was in the SAB TV drama Left Right Left and played the role of Cadet Sameera Shroff.
2. Sanaya in Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi

Following Left Right Left, Sanaya bagged her first negative role in Imagine TV's 2008 show - Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi and was casted as Sanaya, the show's middle-daughter Ragini's friend.
3. Gunjan in Miley Jab Hum Tum

Irani took up her first lead role as a protagonist in STAR One's most popular youth-show Miley Jab Hum Tum (2008-2010), co-starring with actors like Mohit Sehgal, Rati Pandey and Arjun Bijlani. Herein, she portrayed the role of a simple, studious and reclusive Gunjan.
4. Khushi Kumari Gupta in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?

She portrayed the bubbly and loving Khushi Kumari Gupta, the female protagonist of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? (2011-2012), co-starring Barun Sobti, who played the lead role and Khushi's love-interest of Arnav Singh Raizada. The show had consistently maintained its position as one of the 'top ten daily dramas' of the Indian general entertainment channels.
5. Parvati in Rangrasiya

In 2014, Sanaya bagged the lead-role of Parvati in Colors TV's Rangrasiya. The show's plot revolved around the lives of a border security personnel and an orphan girl who were ideologically different. Sanaya was seen opposite to actor Ashish Sharma herein.
