Casting Directors used to LAUGH at my Hindi accent: Nora Fatehi recalls her STRUGGLING DAYS

Here’s what Nora Fatehi has to say about her struggling days.

MUMBAI: TellyChakkar.com is back with an interesting update from the world of television.

Nora Fatehi doesn’t need an introduction. She is one of the finest dancers the industry has. The gorgeous beauty has often charmed the audience with her sizzling performances and glamorous personality. The actress rose to fame with her item number in the movie Bahubali post which she participated in Bigg Boss season 9. (Read here: Nora Fatehi to be BACK in India’s Best Dancer on public demand!)

Nora’s popularity skyrocketed after her super successful song ‘Dilbar’ from Satyamev Jayate. Since then there has been no looking back for her as she went on to prove her mettle in the entertainment industry. She played a prominent role in the Bollywood movie Street Dancer.

Nora is quite popular now, but she has faced her share of struggles. In a recent interview, Nora opened up about how she struggled to make a mark in Bollywood. She stated that she had faced multiple rejections and was also laughed at for her accent. Recalling her audition days, she said, “I hired a Hindi tutor to get my Hindi right as I wanted to be a Bollywood actress. My tutor was very motivating. He used to encourage me by saying that I’m picking up well.”

She added, “I remember going out for auditions, waiting in long queues for hours. I vividly remember an incident wherein I was giving a take in front of the camera and the casting directors who were recording the audition burst into laughter listening to my Hindi accent. It was very disheartening and disappointing. My entire confidence would go down the drain. The funny part is after every difficult situation in the city, you find yourself getting drenched in rain. I can recall, after that very audition, I rushed out of the office and tried to catch a rickshaw. I was crying and howling and was simultaneously trying to get a rickshaw. After I got into the rickshaw, I cried my heart out like a baby and called my Hindi tutor saying that he lied to me about my progress. I told him how people laughed at my Hindi accent.”

Quite a lot of struggle, we must say!

But we all love you, Nora!

Stay tuned to this space for more updates.
