The character of Prithvi Malhotra was supposed to be a cameo but it was so well received that it was turned into the negative lead. This role has given me everything that I aspired : Kundali Bhagya actor Sanjay Gagnani

MUMBAI: While Kundali Bhagya rules the roost and the current storyline revolves around Preeta and Karan who are an audience favourite, there is a section of the audience who feel that the show is losing its charm.

Why so?

Well, it is because of the character of Prithvi Malhotra!

Prithvi was one character who may have kidnapped Preeta, tried marrying her forcefully and many such things but Prithvi was an eye candy when he made the audience’s funny bone tickle with his humour. This character was played by Sanjay Gagnani and we must say, he has impeccable acting skills for it is not an easy job to make the viewers fall in love with a ‘VILLAIN’!

In an exclusive conversation with Sanjay, he spoke about how he feels about getting messages of the audience requesting him to be back in the show.

Sanjay shared, “The audience and viewers are missing me in the show and it feels nice to know this. Wherever I have been going people have been asking me why I am not seen in the show and it has been a month now. I am humbled to receive so much love. This role was supposed to be a cameo but it was so well received that it was turned into the negative lead. This role has given me everything that I aspired to.”

“My character had a love-hate relationship with the audience. When Prithvi used to cause harm to anyone the audience hated me but the times when Prithvi entertained them and made them laugh they also loved him. The audience gave me a tag called ‘Villainero’ as they see me as a villain- hero because there are times when I do villainous things but then there are also times where Prithvi does things which a hero does for the heroine. I am surprised as I thought being a villain I would receive hatred but people love me,” he added.

We went on to ask Sanjay as to when can we expect his return to the show for the audience who loves watching him. Sanjay shared, “Honestly I have been working on a few things. I recently culminated my shooting for a series for Shemaroo and I am gearing up for my next web film which will be shot in this month itself so I think it depends on the makers and the audience as the makers will decide when Prithvi Malhotra will be back in the show and the audience as if they demand, the makers will oblige. Balaji Telefilms is like a home to me so I am just a call away whenever the makers decide I will be back.”

Way to go Sanjay!
