Shocking! Randeep Hooda dropped as UN Treaty Brand Ambassador

Randeep Hooda as removed as the ambassador of the Convention for the Convention for the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS).

MUMBAI: Randeep Hooda as removed as the ambassador of the Convention for the Convention for the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS). This came after his comment on former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati. He spoke at an event held by India Today in 2012, and his comment on the former mnister came across as casteist and sexist.

While CMS  Secretariat states he was unaware of this video, and only after he came across it in the recent times, he found it “offensive” and it was said that they “did not reflect the values.” He also mentioned the organization was not aware of this comment, when the actor was welcomed on board as CMS Ambassador in 2020. While CMS is also known as Bonn Convention, it is said to be a treaty of the United Nations and stands separate from UN Secretariat and the UN Environment Programme.

The video featuring the actor caused a stir on social media. #ArrestRandeepHooda also began to trend online.
