A R Rahman beats 'A' list Bollywood stars to have 1 crore fans on Facebook

In a first for any Indian, AR Rahman has become the first Indian to have more than one crore fan following on Facebook, the popular social networking site. With this achievement, the reputed Oscar winning music director has left behind the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Rahman’s page on Facebook has had 10,139,910 likes by fans while 81,159 people have commented on it.

With this achievement, the reputed Oscar winning music director has left behind the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Rahman’s page on Facebook has had 10,139,910 likes by fans while 81,159 people have commented on it. Following Rahman are Sachin Tendulkar with 9,109,898 likes; Salman Khan has 7,534,958 fans, Aamir Khan has taken the fourth spot with 6,367,036 fans while Amitabh Bachchan has 3,600,477 fans. Celebrating this feat, the noted music director cum crooner has thanked his fans on his official page. Along with he has also posted a picture on the page which says, “10,000,000 and thanks.” Besides national and international music albums, Rahman has had the honour of composing a Punjabi song for the 2012 London Olympics. Of late, he launched the single ‘Infinite Love’ in both Hindi and English to observe the last day of the Mayan calendar to spread love, peace and hope. In addition to Grammy and Oscar, Rahman has won a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe award, four National Film Awards, fifteen Filmfare Awards and thirteen Filmfare Awards South.
