The actor reveals he has been doing some serious kind of cinema until Golmaal happen to him. The actor had done movies like Apaharan, Gangaajal, Zameen and few others where his serious side was known to the fans. And when Rohit Shetty offered him the character vasooli bhai in the movie Golmaal he was very shocked and said that the audience knew him as the serious actor and said that how will people look up to him as a comedy actor. It was Rohit Shetty who had believed him and motivated him and that's how one of the iconic characters of Bollywood Vasooli Bhai was done by Mukesh Tiwari.

The actor also revealed that it was the improvisation made by the actor Arshad Warsi with this character Vasooli Bhai and he had come up with many ideas on how to give more variation to the character in terms of acting and style. as Arshad Warsi was shooting for Munna Bhai back then along with Sanjay Dutt. So it was also the creative ideas given by the actor Arshad Warsi for the character Vasooli bhai the actor said.
