Exclusive! "My initial plan was to do journalism but I landed up in the acting field" - Smriti Kalra on her career

MUMBAI: Actress Smriti Kalra has been winning the hearts of the fans over time with her amazing acting projects. No doubt it is always a treat to watch the actress in different projects and her recently released movie is creating a loud noise everywhere. 

Telly Chakkar got an exclusive chance to speak with the actress with regards to her acting journey where she also spoke in detail about the types of characters she looks forward to doing. 

Smriti Kalra on her acting journey 

No doubt it is always a treat to watch actress Smriti Kalra in different projects. Talking about her journey, the actress revealed that it has been a great journey as an actor which is filled with a good learning experiences and collaborating with an amazing bunch of talented people. Talking in detail, the actress revealed that coming into the acting world was never the plan. Her initial interest was to work in the media field. The actress says that she comes from a family of doctors and chartered accountants so she never thought that she would come into the acting field. After completing her studies in the science field the actress went for journalism. From journalism, the actress went on to do jobs which included working as a PR and RJing. But when she got her acting debut project there was no looking back for her and now she is looking forward to doing some amazing work in the acting field. 

Smriti Kalra on types of characters she looks forward to doing on digital platforms 

Over time we can see some amazing projects are being made on digital platforms. We can also see different actors and directors are collaborating to make something phenomenal on digital platforms and having said that the actress is very excited and expressed that she is looking forward to doing different and challenging characters on digital platforms. The actress says that she is open to doing any type of character but points out specifically she really wishes to play split personality in any of her future projects. The actress also wishes to be a part of some action-oriented project. Giving some more detail, the actress says that she has never done a proper commercial actress project, so she is looking forward to doing something that Sanjay Leela Bhansali's heroines do.

Smriti Kalra on her upcoming project 

Smriti Kalra reveals that she will be seen in her second Bollywood movie titled Memory X which will also have actor Vinay Pathak along with her.
