
MUMBAI: In a move that has reignited excitement across the country, television queen Ektaa Kapoor has officially announced the much-anticipated return of one of Indian TV’s most iconic serials Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
A cultural phenomenon in every sense, the original series first aired on Star Plus at 10:30 PM and quickly became a national obsession. Dominating the TRP charts for an extraordinary eight years, it left an indelible mark on the Indian television landscape.
Launched in 2000, the show followed the emotional saga of Tulsi and Mihir, brought to life by the unforgettable performances of Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay. Their chemistry and compelling storyline captivated millions, turning them into household names.

As exclusively reported earlier, Ektaa Kapoor has been planning a grand revival of the beloved series. Now, it’s confirmed that both Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay are set to reprise their iconic roles, ushering in a new chapter of nostalgia and drama for loyal fans and a fresh generation of viewers alike.
Recent reports now confirm that Shagun Sharma and Rohit Suchanti have officially been signed on as the lead pair for the much-awaited revival of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
There is buzz doing the rounds that the OG cast of the show will also be part of the show,though there is no confirmation on the same.
Hiten Tejwani (Karan), Gauri Pradhan (Gauri), Rakshanda Khan (Tanya), Shilpa Saklani Agnihotri (Ganga) and Sandeep Baswana (Sahil) might also be seen in the show.
The show will incorporate politics into its storyline and aims to complete 2,000 episodes.
The show is set to premiere on July 3, 2025, at 10:30 p.m. on Star Plus, marking a 25-year milestone since its original premiere.
