Even before the Bipasha Basu-Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Aatma releases on 1 March (2013), Kumar Mangat (producer of the film) is mulling with the idea of making a sequel of the film.
"Aatma 2 is definitely on the cards; Mangatji has asked me to write a script for it (part two)," averred director Supran Verma when we asked him if the reports of the sequel of the film was indeed true.

Even before the Bipasha Basu-Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Aatma releases on 1 March (2013), Kumar Mangat (producer of the film) is mulling with the idea of making a sequel of the film.

Aatma is a haunting journey of a single mother Maya Verma (Bipasha Basu) who starts her life afresh with her six year old daughter Nia. As Maya starts to pick up the pieces of her life, strange things starts happening around her. When she sees Nia speaking to her dead father (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), Maya initially feels that she has created an imaginary father to fill the gap in her life. The rest forms the crux of the film.
Observed Nawazuddin of his role, “See, as far as this film is concerned, I liked my role and script a lot; in the sense I could relate to the role. The film is not only horror but there is an emotional triangle in the film between parents and children."
