MUMBAI: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, one of Indian cinema’s finest actors, is back with another powerful performance in his upcoming film, I'm Not An Actor. Known for his unparalleled versatility in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Sacred Games, and Haddi, Nawazuddin continues to push artistic boundaries.
The makers recently unveiled the trailer, which is nothing short of intense and engaging, further amplifying the film’s anticipation.
Sharing the trailer, the makers wrote:
An ode to the art and craft of acting. But also, to the life of an actor. The frustrations, the complexes, the vulnerability, living in the moment, improvising with life itself and over time, the inner harshness and anger. But also the capacity to love in a boundless and unlimited manner and the ability to use art for catharsis. To actors! 🥂”
The trailer showcases two actors engaging in a gripping audition via video chat, with Nawazuddin delivering a performance that keeps viewers hooked. The seamless retakes and layered emotions hint at a deeply immersive film that will showcase his craft uniquely and compellingly.
Produced by Mumba Devi Motion Pictures, Main Actor Nahin Hoon (English title: I'm Not An Actor) stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Chitrangada Satarupa. The film is set for its world premiere at the 2025 Cinequest Film Festival in California this March. Directed by Aditya Kripalani, this Hindi-English drama follows a puritanical Mumbai actor mentoring a retired, depressed Frankfurt banker through video calls.
Nawazuddin’s last outing, Rautu Ka Raaz, earned widespread praise on OTT, proving once again why he remains one of India’s most compelling performers. With I'm Not An Actor, he is set to deliver another masterclass in acting, making this film one of the most awaited releases of the year.
