MUMBAI: Winner of Bigg Boss Season 14, Rubina Dilaik in a conversation with an entertainment portal talks about her struggling days and a lot more.
Rubina was asked about how difficult or easy was for her to set her mark in the entertainment world. The star says, during the time when I was giving my look tests and auditions for the shows. I was asked by a casting director to give an audition for a show. I was meeting this director, and he said my face is very harsh and I should do negative roles. He said, your face is very hard, so it is better to you to do negative roles, you won’t get the main leads in any shows.
She further said, after doing some daily soaps at the time and there was an awards night show. I was not aware of the term main leads or protagonist, but I knew I was playing a central character in the show. My sister was called for all the events but I was never called for anyone. I realized that I was not presentable enough for the events. I still remembered for one of the awards night show, I purchased a black dress and curl my hair for the event. I went for the show and I knew that I will win the best actor award for my show. But when the winner was announced, it was somebody else. I couldn’t take that, so I ran to the bathroom and cried a lot. Because I knew that the award was mine.
A couple of days later I came to know that the stars that were announced as the winners are going to walk the ramp for Vikram Phadnis fashion show. That was the first and the last award show I promised myself that I will never go for any award show if I am nominated for any award.
