MUMBAI: Actor Ashish Vidyarthi in this exclusive interview talks about his upcoming web series Raktanchal 2. The actor also talks about the parameters that he sees before taking up any projects, shares his take on OTT platforms and how he sees social media as a platform.
What are the parameters that you see before signing a film?
I can promise you that there is no parameter before signing any film. Sometimes there is a good remuneration and sometimes there is a good script. I prefer to work with simple people. The characters are very important for me before signing any projects. I am very sure about the kind of work I want to do and I will sign on to those films which really interest me as an actor. The audience will see me in different avatars in the coming weeks especially in the films which I am currently doing in the Hindi cinema.
What's your take on OTT platforms?
For me, whatever works for the business of the film. The people think whatever is consumed by the audience should be made more. It's an individual choice of an actor, it's an individual choice of a director and it is an individual choice of the person who is watching it. OTT is not judging any content, it is allowing its consumer to judge what they want to consume as a customer.
How do you see social media platforms?
Social media is a great way for me to communicate with my audiences and fans. Through various platforms, I try to communicate with my fans. For example, I have my YouTube channel, I am also a motivational speaker, and I also am very active on Instagram. So social media platforms have given people like us, to showcase different talents on different platforms. So I really enjoy being on social media platforms.
