MUMBAI: Actor and producer Shobhit Attray in this exclusive interview talks about his upcoming web series Mombian – Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story. He speaks about his character and how important is for the audience to accept the LGBT community.
Tell us about web series Mombian – Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story
It is a very emotional web series. There are two girls, Gul and Sakshi. This story is about their journey and their struggle. You will get to see their emotional journey, their love story, and how they fight against all odds in society. So the story revolves around these two girls and how they come out of this situation.
Tell us about your character
I am playing the character of Sakshi's brother in the web series. During our childhood, both Sakshi and I have a great bonding, but later, when he comes to know that she is a lesbian, he cut off his relationship with her. But as the series goes ahead, he comes to know that he was wrong and his viewpoint about Sakshi was wrong. So when his sister faces difficulties, he stands by her side.
According to you, how important is it for the audience to accept LGBT content?
Films and web series on the LGBT community are being made. That itself means the audience is accepting such content. It will take time for some people to understand the LGBT community and accept them. We can't ignore them for a long time as they are part of our community as well. In the field in which we are, you will find many people who are gays and lesbians. We have to accept them, be friends with them, and work together with them. In this series, you will find an emotional connection with the LGBT community.
