TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress and asked her about the similarities between her real and reel self. She revealed her dream actor and director.
What are the similarities you see between Niyati and your real life?
I find a lot of similarities between me and Niyati. We both have an unyielding fighting spirit and dedication towards work and family. We both are truthful and always try to do the right thing. It helps me to relate with the character and bring out the emotions on screen.
The web world is expanding; do you think it will take over television and Bollywood?
I think the web world is a new exciting space that will make its own space in entertainment. However, Bollywood and TV are here to stay. How each of them evolves is something interesting and I look forward to it.
Social media is difficult to handle at times, especially for actors who get so much love from fans but at the same time face trolls and hatred. So how do you see and handle social media?
Social media is an amazing channel with unprecedented reach. I think we all are learning how to share content with the audience. I believe if we have the right intentions and our content is only for the sole purpose of entertainment, I will be away from controversy and still connect with my fans.
Any dream role from Bollywood that you would want to essay someday on screen and a dream director and actor you would want to work in the future?
I loved Geet in Jab we met. Kareena Kapoor was simply superb in the film and I loved all the layers of the character. I would love to work with Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The magic he creates on screen is wonderful.
My favorite actor is Mr. Shah Rukh Khan and I am a huge fan. I wish I could really be his Simran in his next movie.
Well, we hope that Simran’s dreams get fulfilled someday.
