"If the bond is good off-screen, it shows on screen too" — Radhika Vidyasagar on Playing Renuka in Udne Ki Aasha

MUMBAI: Radhika Vidyasagar, who plays Renuka Deshmukh in Udne Ki Aasha, speaks candidly about the joy and ease of working on the set of the Rahul Kumar Tewary and Rolling Tales production. Known for her steady presence on screen, Radhika reflects on the collaborative spirit and fun-filled atmosphere that define her experience on the show.

Radhika emphasizes the importance of professionalism and teamwork on set. “As I said, the co-actors are very cooperative and professional,” she shares. Working alongside veteran actor Sanjay Narvekar, she notes how his experience helps everyone else. “Sanjay, being a very senior actor and a true thespian, actually guides us with timing and other nuances. He’s very cooperative, and yes, it definitely helps.”

The environment behind the camera is anything but dull. Radhika reveals that her on-screen sons, played by Sachin and Tejas, are notorious for their playful antics. “They are truly number one when it comes to playing pranks,” she laughs. Director Rajesh Babar also adds to the lively atmosphere. “Thanks again to Rajesh Babar sir, our director. He keeps things fun behind the scenes. It really makes the workload feel lighter.”

From day one, Radhika says she felt a connection with her co-star Tejas (played by Purru). “We bonded really well from the beginning. He’s quite professional and very smart,” she says. These real connections, she believes, translate to better performances. “If your bond is good off-screen, then your on-screen chemistry automatically improves. We all share a very good bond in the Udne Ki Aasha team, and I think that reflects on screen.”

Despite not seeing herself as a natural comedic actor, Radhika credits the role of Renuka for giving her more confidence. “Comedy requires trust, spontaneity, and timing,” she explains. “I don’t belong to the typical category of comedy actors. But the character of Renuka has allowed me to explore that, and I really want to thank the makers for giving me this opportunity.”

She also acknowledges the influence of her co-stars in this area.

For Radhika Vidyasagar, Udne Ki Aasha is more than just another project. It’s a place where respect, professionalism, and genuine fun come together—on screen and off.
