Suchitra Mohanlal is a Mollywood film producer, born in Chennai as Suchitra Balaji. She is the daughter of popular Tamil actor cum producer “K. Balaji” and Anandavalli. Suchitra's family originates from Palakkad.
Suchitra has a sister named Sujatha and a brother named Suresh Balaji. Balaji’s production company, Sujatha Cine Arts, was named after his elder daughter Sujatha.
During her college days, Suchitra fell in love with “Mohanlal,” who was the heartthrob of the youngsters at that time. She had been sending bouquets and cards to the actor frequently.
She is the co-owner of Pranavam Arts International, a production company founded by her husband and actor Mohanlal.
Suchitra and Mohanlal got married on April 1988 at Attukal Bagavathy Temple, Kerala.
