MUMBAI: Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Acharya’ failed at the box office and managed to only mint Rs 76 crore at the ticket window across the country. According to the latest reports, the father and son have paid Rs 20 crore from their pockets to the exhibitors to make up for the losses.

Earlier, it was reported that 25 exhibitors were protesting outside Koratala Siva's office since last night after the film failed at the box office. Reportedly, the exhibitors are threatening to protest outside Chiranjeevi's house if the issue is not resolved.
According to media reports, a distributor named Rajgopal Bajaj had also sent a letter to Chiranjeevi, requesting him to compensate him for the losses caused by Acharya. Reportedly, Bajaj invested a huge amount in the film due to the buzz surrounding Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's collaboration on the big screen.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ram Charan has Rc15 and RC 16 in his pipeline. Chiranjeevi, on the other hand, is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film, GodFather. It is the Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit film, Lucifer. The film will have Salman Khan in the cameo role and Nayanthara stars as the female lead.
