OH NO! Salman Khan quits the No Entry sequel over tiff with Boney Kapoor

Anees Bazmee, who wrote and directed the popular 2005 comedy film No Entry, has finally confirmed that he is working on the sequel called No Entry Mein Entry. It will be released by January 2023. New reports say that Salman Khan has quit the film after he had a fallout with producer Boney Kapoor.

MUMBAI:  According to a news portal, Salman wanted the entire production of No Entry Mein Entry to be handled by himself. This was a surprise to Boney, who already had his production set-up for several years now. It was also reportedly said that Salman also wanted to own the negative and the IPR of the franchise, along with the digital and satellite rights. It was stated that Salman's demands eventually led to his fallout with Boney, who has now decided to make the film without Salman Khan.

If this particular report turns out to be true, it will be a huge disappointment for ardent fans, who have been eagerly waiting to see Salman in the No Entry sequel. It can also turn out that Salman Khan and Boney Kapoor bury their differences and come on the same page so that things keep rolling as planned earlier.

Earlier, when director Bazmee was asked about going forward with No Entry Mein Entry, he said that they don't want to just cash in on the popularity of the franchise by making something average. He said that they deliberated many ideas, discussed them and eventually rejected them as they wanted the sequel to live up to its prequel.

"Finally, in 2016, we came up with a one-line idea, which we all agreed upon. Developing a script around this one-line idea and then writing the dialogues took a lot of time. People say that one should leave their brains behind while watching such films, but to make such a film jahan log apna dimag apne ghar chhod kar theatre mein aye aur enjoy kare, we have to work our mind a lot," he had told a source.

Other than Salman, Anil and Fardeen, No Entry also featured Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly in important roles.
