EXCLUSIVE! Mohit Daga opens up about his journey; says “An actor knows when he has done good work and when he has just delivered

MUMBAI: Influenced by his aunt Nilmani Desai, Mohit Daga joined a modeling workshop in Pune. Thereafter he came to Mumbai in 2002 to join an acting workshop and got a small role in a serial named Kammal. With the dream of making a mark on the silver screen, Mohit joined Zee Cinestarts Ki Khoj a reality show in 2004 and finished as a finalist there.

After Zee Cinestarts Ki Khoj, Mohit tried his luck in films for a few years but destiny had some other plan for him. He found fame with Akbar Birbal Remixed, India's first show for the web and mobile produced by Rajshree Media in 2007.

Thereafter he appeared in many television shows like Love Story, Left Right Left, Bhaskar Bharti, Aise Karo Naa Vidaa, Bairi Piya, and Ek Mutthi Aasmaan. He appeared in Aapke Aa Jane Se on Zee TV. He also acted in the web series Faceless in 2019 on Jio Cinema. His recent work was Tera Yaar Hoon Main since December 2020.

He is currently working on the show Dusri Maa which airs on &TV and is shooting for it in Jaipur.

Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actor and got to know some interesting insights.

What are your expectations from your character?

“I have been receiving quite a nice feedback regarding my performance on the show. These days due to social media, you get to know a lot of things and that too quicker. An actor knows when he has done good work and when he has just delivered dialogues. I have not experienced that yet. I am just delivering dialogues. I am trying to do the best I can. My director works on little nuances and it gets the best results. He wishes to deliver good and new types of content. This is quite an emotional journey because the character is such.”

What else is in the pipeline for the future?

“When you play a lead, you don’t get that much time. You are committed to it fully then. You then don’t even get calls if people are aware that you are playing a lead actor. So there is nothing in the pipeline for the future plus I am shooting in Jaipur for this show so I am not even in Mumbai to meet people.”

There are a lot of other aspiring actors in the industry. What would you like to say to them?

“I would like to tell them that two things are very important, acceptance and patience. I have accepted all sorts of times life threw at me. People tend to lose patience and do not accept the situations as well.”
