MUMBAI: Vishal Jethwa impressed one and all with his performance as the antagonist in Rani Mukerji starrer Maardaani 2. Now, the actor is all set for his next film titled Salaam Venky, which stars Kajol in the lead role where Aamir Khan will be having a cameo. 

Recently, during a media interaction, Vishal opened up about the film, his experience of working with Aamir Khan, and more. 

Why the film is titled Salaam Venky?

“It’s not just salaam to Venky, it’s even salaam to his mother. But, we can’t title a film like Venky aur uski maa ko salaam, so that’s why, Salaam Venky (laughs).”

What was your first reaction when you came to know that after Rani Mukerji in Mardaani 2, you are going to work with Kajol in Salaam Venky?

I was very happy and I think that I have a connection with the Mukerji family as I have worked with both the sisters. I had done a music album earlier, which was also with Arko Mukerji. So, I was surprised and very happy. The first time when I got a call, I was just told that there's a film which stars Kajol ma’am and Revathy ma’am is directing it. So, of course, I was halfway through saying yes. As an individual, both actresses have been very successful in their times as well as now. 

Do you have any scenes with Aamir Khan in the film?

Yes, I have. I am very fortunate to have worked in a scene with him. He is my favourite Khan. I really like him and his films. He took a lot of interest in me. He used to keep asking my name and say that he forgets it. Even in one of his interviews, he said that ‘Vishal is a fantastic actor’.
