MUMBAI : Kishori Shahane is an Indian classical and folk dancer and actress who has worked in Hindi and Marathi movies and television. She is married to Hindi filmmaker Deepak Balraj Vij. She is a producer of a film about the life of Sai Baba of Shirdi. She is known for appearing in shows like Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and Ishq Mein Marjawan. In 2019, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss Marathi 2 finishing in fifth place.
Currently, she is playing the role of Bhavani Chavan in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. She is playing a grey shade character and is being immensely loved for her performance.
Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actress and got to know interesting insights.
What are your thoughts on the current track of the show?
“The current track is going in a way that is quite unpredictable and we don’t know what will happen in the future. Initially, it was anticipated that Sai leaves the house along with the child. So the new twists, where Savi is Virat’s daughter and Virat’s turmoil where he is taking care of both the kids along with what is going on with Pakhi and Sai, are not anticipated. Bhavani, my character, is also trying to keep things in control and thinking of how the respect of the family can be maintained in society which is going quite haywire right now. Even she is disturbed and concerned about the family’s image. She is very unhappy with what is happening. These twists keep the interest alive.”

You play a grey-shade character and often tend to face backlash. How do you deal with it?
“I deal with it as an actor because everything is for entertainment only and people are liking the twists and turns of the show. For me as an actor, this is not my first show. All my life I have been working. There have been several twists and turns in my life too so I take it very boldly. People are giving attention to whatever is happening and what we are showing on the show is nowhere wrong. In our personal lives as well there are so many complications, so many things we witness and things we ignore. The same things are happening here as well but it is coming out so boldly that people are amazed to see it but then it happens in the society too.Time is the biggest healer and things resolve at the right time in relationships. What is wrong and what is right, is absolutely each one's perspective. So the love that audience is showering on the show,as a matter of fact,that they are involved with us and we have become a part of their lives. They are concerned and also getting entertained."
You and Shiv Thakare were contestants on the Marathi Bigg Boss during the same season. He is currently a part of Bigg Boss 16. What do you feel about his game?
“I think he is playing very well and the previous experience has helped him out. He has been a part of Roadies and Marathi Bigg Boss, which is helping him to work it out now in the show. The tasks are not the only thing that is important in the show, the game is psychological and has to be played like it. We as the audience enjoy that he is playing extremely well and he is getting a lot of support. When I ask anyone about Shiv, they feel he is the best. I am completely supporting him. He is a nice guy personally and a good soul too. He is a really good friend of mine and post Marathi Bigg Boss, he is one of the contestants who kept in touch with me and we regularly speak and meet up at events.”
