MUMBAI: Chaitrali Gupte is an Indian television and film actress who mainly works in the Marathi industry. She is best known for Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, Piyaa Albela, and Shrimant Damodar Pant.
She is currently portraying the role of Devika Rana in Star Plus’ Imlie. She is loved for her character and her performance.
Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actress and got to know interesting insights about the show and her character.
Imlie before the leap did wonders with the TRP and the audience loved it. The ratings currently are great too so do you feel a sense of pressure to live up to the set standard?
“Daily soaps are all about TRPs. I don’t think any of us took a lot of pressure, we just tried to do our work. I always say that whenever we take a leap, we are a part of a popular show but our track is different and so are our characters. People will take time to accept it and they have taken their time. Now, they are liking the show and the characters. We get to see what the audience likes and whatnot on social media. We are working hard and as a team doing everything we can. We are working with complete determination and passion. We are growing slowly and it is better to grow gradually. We never felt the pressure as a team, it was only during the week when the TRPs decreased a little that we all felt that we needed to buckle up.”
It has not been that long since you started shooting post-the-leap. How is your bond with Bobby Parvez and the rest of the cast?
“I respect Bobby sir a lot, I have seen him in many ad films, web shows, and serials. He is a wonderful person to work with. He is very calm and I am fond of him. I am quite fond of Karan, Megha, and Seerat as well. Everybody is so chilled out and we all have gelled up well. We did not get the time to have a workshop before we started, as soon as the first season ended, the second one began. Now we are like a small family and we have a lot of fun on set. It is nice to work with all of them. They are all very focused and passionate about their work.”
The shoot goes on for such long hours and the show airs all week. How do you strike a work-life balance?
“It gets really difficult. But I am fortunate that my husband is from the same field so he understands how it all works. Even my daughter understands. So I can very well balance work and family life. So I haven’t had to face any difficulty up until now and I hope so for the future too.”
