MUMBAI : Paritosh Tripathi always makes us laugh out loud with his amazing comic timing. His antics in Case Toh Banta Hai had become the talk of the town, and now, the actor is all set for his next project titled Pyare Papa. It’s a short film directed by Santosh Ojha and will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 12th January 2023.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Paritosh Tripathi and spoke to him about the short film, how different it is from his previous work, and more…
Tell us something about your upcoming short film Pyare Papa
It’s a short film with a big message. It addresses the problems in the family, and it’s very relatable. It’s about a man who is a drunkard; he is not only spoiling his body but also the atmosphere of society. It’s a very strong subject. The performances in the film are good, and the writing is very good. You will feel like you are watching a proper full-fledged film.
How was your experience of working with Santosh Ojha?
It was a tiring experience because there were date issues as I was shooting for something else as well. I got a gap of one day, and in that one day we shot it continuously; there was no break. There are different locations, and a lot of changes were there. But, when I saw the first cut of the film, I felt it was all worth it. It has turned out to be better than what I saw on paper. But, it was totally fun to shoot; earlier I was joking a bit. Yes, it was tiring, but it was a fun experience.
How different is the character from what you have played earlier?
It’s very different from what I have done earlier. In Ludo, it was a difficult character for me as I am not like that at all. So, even this character was not relatable for me and that’s why it was difficult. He is a character who keeps drinking alcohol day and night. The film’s name is Pyare Papa, but the character is not a darling. So, that was challenging as sometimes mentally you get tired and exhausted while performing such a character. So, yes it was a difficult part for me.
Pyare Papa also stars Anamica Kadamb in the lead role.
