MUMBAI : Arjun Kapoor started his career with Ishaqzaade (2012) which was a hit at the box office, and he also impressed one and all with his performance in the movie. In these 12 years, he has been a part of many movies and while some did well at the box office, some failed to make a mark and impress the audience.
The last film of Arjun Kapoor that did reasonably well at the box office was the 2017 Mubarakan which also starred Anil Kapoor in the lead role. Unfortunately, after Mubarakan, none of his films have done well at the box office.
Namaste England, India's Most Wanted, Panipat, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, and Ek Villain Returns; all these films starring Arjun have failed to make a mark at the box office. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar was released amid the pandemic, without much promotion. Though the film failed at the box office, it received a great response when it premiered on OTT, and even Arjun’s performance in it was appreciated a lot.
Now, the actor is gearing up for the release of Kuttey. The movie is the first Bollywood biggie to hit big screens in 2023, with a stellar star cast like Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Radhika Madan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kumud Mishra, and Shardul Bhardwaj in the lead roles.
The movie is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan Bhardwaj. The trailer received a good response, but the songs haven’t created much buzz including Phir Dhan Te Nan.
Well, after five back-to-back flops, Kuttey is an important film for Arjun Kapoor. In the trailer, he impressed everyone with his performance, and now, it will be interesting to see what response the movie and Arjun’s act will get.
