MUMBAI :Akanksha Puri has carved a path for herself in the glamour world. The film and TV actress has been a part of several projects. She even acted in Madhur Bhandarkar's 2015 film Calendar Girls, where she essayed the role of Nandita Menon.
Her television project Vighnaharta Ganesha starred her as Parvathi.
She has also been surrounded by waves of controversies, especially during season 13 of BB, even though she was not a part of it.
Currently, the actress is busy shooting for her three back-to-back web series that will soon stream online.
These days, she has grabbedheadlines for her participation in the reality show Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 and unfortunately, within two weeks, she was eliminated.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress and asked her whether she thinks that the lip–lock was overhyped and also her thoughts on speaking about her previous relationship on the show.
Do you think that the whole lip–lock scene has been overhyped?
I am surprised I didn’t know that it would be such an issue as I was locked in the house. When I came out of the house, I came to know that it was. It was just a thirty-minute task and I have kissed my co–actors in various projects. It’s not a big thing. It was a task and if not Jad, I would have done it with anyone in the house, be it male or female. It was a task and I wanted to complete it.
But in the house, you said that it was “Jad” and hence you were comfortable doing it?
Yes. Because it was Jad, I was comfortable as I have that bond with him. If it was Cyrus, I would have done it, but wouldn't have been that comfortable or even with Abhishek, for who I have brotherly vibes. I would have done it for sure as I wanted to win the task. But luckily, I had to do it with Jad. He was cool and I have that comfort with him.
You spoke about your previous relationship in the house indirectly to Jad, what do you have to say about it?
That was my last relationship. After that, I haven’t been in any relationship and that is the open as I didn’t hide anything. I have always been open about my life and spoke about it. When Jad was looking in for a relationship, I had to explain to him why I didn’t want to get into one.
Even when he proposed to me for marriage, I didn’t show any interest as for the experiences I have had, I'd like to take it slowly. When he used to ask why I am uncomfortable, I couldn’t tell him the reason. But then one day, I told him indirectly.
I am careful now as I have bitterness. I am more careful and overprotective. I cannot judge anyone fast, so I take my time. If I meet someone outside, I would give it a chance, but would take my time.
Well, there is no doubt that Akanksha Puri was a strong contestant. But there were certain things that the audience couldn’t relate to and hence, she was eliminated.
